Fernanda Romero (real name, Maria Fernanda Romero Martinez) was born in 1983 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. She began her singing career when she joined BMG's recording ensemble group, Frizzby. Her parents were originally skeptical of her career in music, they were concerned she would not be able to make enough money to support herself through her music.
She was only 16 when the group began touring from Mexico to Central America to promote their two top ten singles. They performed for Pope John Paul II at the famous Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
By the time Romero reached eighteen she was in ad campaigns for brands like Rock and Republic, Clean & Clear, Pepsi, Apple, and J.C. Penney. She also appeared in magazines such as GQ Mexico, OK Magazine Espanol, Reforma Magazine and ELLE Mexico Magazine.
Films with appearances by Romero include Hunter's Moon a sci-fi thriller, directed mainly by Emmy and Mark Stouffer, Ready or Not, 2 Dudes and a Dream, and Legend of the Pit Fighter. Romero has also appeared the a reality show Control as a hostess.[1] Romero has recently appeared in the horror film Drag Me to Hell.[2]
There are currently several more films in line for release in 2009 and 2010, including The Red Canvas, Milo (pre-production), Creature of Darkness, Once Fallen (post-production), Las Angeles (post-production), and El precio del paraiso (in production).
